EXERCISE MYTH # 1 : CALORIES BURN ONLY IF YOU SWEAT
Wrong . Sweating is a natural way to cool down your body when it gets overheated and has nothing to do with burning of calories . Some people sweat a lot and some people very little. Dont get disappointed if you are not sweating while you exercise. Some people take Sauna bath or steam bath hoping to lose fat. If you have time , use it for walking rather than taking a Sauna bath.
EXERCISE MYTH # 2 : TWISTING YOUR WAIST REDUCES IT
Not True . You might have seen many people twisting their waist hoping to lose the bulky fat . Exercise has no effect on local fat but definitely abdominal muscles strengthen up when you twist waist. But the action of twisting has no effect on fat stored on abdomen.
EXERCISE MYTH # 3 : WOMEN SHOULD AVOID EXERCISE OTHERWISE THEY GET BULKY MUSCLES.
Women can get bulkier muscles only if they do resistance training exercises like lifting heavy weights. Exercises which burn calories like walking , running will not build bulky muscles.
EXERCISE MYTH # 4 : MASSAGE INCREASES WEIGHT LOSS
Massage can help in improving blood circulation in your muscles but will not help in losing fat. Remember , you cannot also displace fat from one body part to other by massaging.
EXERCISE MYTH # 5 : EXERCISE TILL IT HURTS
The Saying ” No pain , No gain ” is dangerous when it comes to exercising. The type of exercise , duration of exercise should be such that there is no pain . If something is hurting , stop it and take rest or get a medical advice. If its a painful activity , you are not going to continue the same on a long term basis for sure. Don’t be too harsh on yourself.
EXERCISE MYTH # 6 : YOU DONT NEED TO EXERCISE IF YOU ARE THIN
Wrong . Exercise is needed for everyone regardless of weight. When you lose weight , it becomes important for you to maintain the weight loss by exercising regularly. Make exercise a part of your routine activity .
EXERCISE MYTH # 7 : YOU LOSE WEIGHT ONLY BY EXERCISE
Though exercise has lots of benefits on health , it may be surprising to know that you can lose weight with diet alone. Exercise helps in burning more calories and can supplement for weight loss . Even if you don’t exercise , you can lose weight by following proper weight loss diet schedule.
